Species
A. siculum subsp. dioscoridis is a clump-forming, deciduous, bulbous perennial with keeled, strap-shaped, mid-green leaves and sturdy, erect stems bearing umbels of pendent, green-flushed, purple-marked, creamy-white flowers in early summer. Flowers are followed by conical, pale brown seed capsules.

Plant bulbs in autumn 5cm deep, 25cm apart in well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates partial shade. Tends to self-seed readily. Site carefully as bulbs tend to resent disturbance.
