Cultivation

Plant bulb 5-10cm deep in early autumn in humus-rich, preferably moist soil in partial shade. Tolerates sun and moist but well-drained conditions. Add sand or grit to heavy clay to avoid waterlogged conditions. A. tricoccum is a protected species in Quebec, Canada. It is a species of 'special concern' in Maine, Rhode Island, and Tennessee.
