Additional plant details

Cultivation

Under glass, grow in an equal mix of composted bark, loam, and sand in filtered light. In growth, maintain high humidity, water freely, and feed every 2-3 weeks Water moderately in winter. Alternatively, cut back and store the rhizome in a cool, dry place over winter. Outdoors in frost-free areas, grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained, preferably neutral to acid soil in partial shade. Tolerates periodic flooding. Leaves often scorch if exposed to full sun. Strong winds may damage leaves. Do not allow to dry out.
