Variety or Cultivar
Atherton form is a clump-forming, half-hardy, evergreen perennial with upright to arching stems bearing long, elliptic to broadly lance-shaped, dark green leaves, reddish-brown to maroon beneath, and, in late spring and early summer, spike-like racemes of fragrant, tubular, two-lipped, white flowers followed by edible, dark blue fruit.
