Cultivation

In frost-free areas, grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist, neutral to acid soil in partial to full shade. Fruit, rhizomes, and new leaf shoots are edible. Will be killed to the base by light frosts. Hard frosts will kill the rhizomes. Under glass, grow in loam-based compost with 25% added leaf mould and composted bark in bright, filtered light. In growth, water freely & feed monthly.
