Cultivation

Grows easily in a wide range of soils. Must be sited in full sun. Tolerates drought and poor, dry, gravelly soil as well as clay. Usually goes dormant in late summer, re-emerging in mid-spring. Best if left undisturbed once established. Flowers are a nectar source for numerous butterflies and leaves are a food source for monarch butterfly larvae.
