Cultivation

Grow in dry, poor to moderately fertile, neutral to alkaline, sharply drained soil in full sun. Native to desert areas so tolerates prolonged drought and saline conditions. In native areas, plant in autumn. Growing conditions will dictate mature height. Can be invasive, particularly on moist soil. Will not tolerate waterlogged conditions in winter. Tends to hybridize with other Atriplex species.
