Species
C. sativum is an upright, clump-forming annual with bright green leaves, variably-shaped and lobed lower at the base of the plant, pinnate with linear leaflets on flowering stems. Umbels of small, asymmetric, white, pale pink or pale purple flowers in summer are followed by edible, aromatic fruit.
