Cultivation

Grow in sharply drained soil in a sheltered, sunny site. In colder areas, protect with a dry winter mulch. Suitable for growing in troughs, scree beds, crevices, or in an unheated alpine house. May not bloom until summer in the coldest areas of its growing range. Does not tolerate wet, winter conditions. Dislikes humid conditions. Drought tolerant once established.
