many thanks Elaine. The only thing is I bought the plant around October last year from a good nursery so it's not that old. I have mulched itvwith garden compos and fed it with a seaweed liquid feed but the leaves have red blotches and the yeollw seems to ro be spreading. I can't seem to upload any photos which is a shame but thank-you again for taking the time to reply. If it does survive. Will divide as it gets older.

They need to be divided every few years, the old crowns thrown out and the strong crown re-planted, they are heavy feeders and require a lot of water.

Hi,
leaves on my Rheum Palmatum are turning yellow and Redon patches. new leaves are yellowed and growth has slowed overall. should I lift it, add grit to the soil & replant or it it too late? Also unidentified insect (see photo) has appeared on underside of leaves. I have picked these off - are they bad for the plant?
Thanks
