Symptoms - Occurs in storage. The middle of tuber becomes decayed and hollow. Discoloured sunken areas of irregular shape. Internal cavities with sparse grey or yellow mould. Black pinhead spore-producing bodies occur internally and externally. Distinct margin between healthy and affected tissue. Occasionally secondary wet rots develop following bacterial infection.
