Potato blight

Potato blight

Symptoms - In early summer brown/black tips and leaf margins show, which then then curl and dry-up. The disease can spread rapidly to all exposed parts of the plant, resulting in its total collapse and spread of disease to tubers. Tubers develop a firm red-brown rot under discoloured skin. Tubers are then at risk of invasion by other organisms producing a soft, foul-smelling rot.
