Additional plant details

Cultivation

Under glass, grow in loam-based compost in full light. Water freely in growth, sparingly in winter. Outdoors, grow in moderately fertile, very well-drained soil in sun. Drought, heat, and deer tolerant. Avoid wet or waterlogged conditions. In frost-prone areas, protect with horticultural fleece in winter or, if container grown, overwinter indoors. Reportedly hardier than Echium candicans, tolerating short periods of frost.
