Heliconia

Heliconia is a genus of approximately 200 species of from scrub to rainforest in subtropical or tropical regions in Central and South America and the Southwestern Pacific with spoon- or paddle-shaped leaves and spikes of flowers surrounded by large, brightly-coloured bracts.
