Myrsine is a genus of approximately five species of evergreen, rounded to upright shrubs and trees from scrub and forests in Africa, the Azores, China, the Himalayas, and New Zealand with linear, lance-shaped, rounded, leathery, glossy, mid- to dark green leaves and umbels of inconspicuous male and female flowers borne on separate plants.
