Vriesea

Vriesea is a genus of approximately 250 species of rosette-forming, evergreen, primarily epiphytic perennials from tropical forests and rocky areas in Central and South America with linear or lance-shaped leaves and spike-like racemes or panicles of tubular flowers surrounded by conspicuous bracts.
