Species
M. canadense is a spreading, rhizomatous perennial with compact, upright stems, each bearing one to three broadly ovate, veined, glossy, dark green leaves and short racemes of tiny, star-shaped, white flowers in late spring and early summer followed by translucent, red fruit.
