Cabbage root fly

Symptoms
Blue-tinged leaves that wilt in sunshine and blackened roots. Young plants are particularly susceptible. Young plants can die and more mature plants grow slowly. Cabbages may fail to 'heart' and cauliflower from tiny heads.

Spot them
White maggots approx 1 cm (1/4 inch) long.
