Carrot fly

Symptoms
Rusty brown scars ring carrot roots, making them inedible. Can cause additional damage, such as bacterial soft rot on vegetables and ornamentals.

Spot them
Cut through roots show tunnels, often containing slender creamy yellow maggots up to 9mm long.
