Gall midges

Symptoms
The midges feed on developing fruits which become deformed and decay, and frequently producing galls on plant.

Spot them
Very small and fragile flies with long-legs and long, hairy antennae. The larvae are small maggots, ranging in colour from white or yellow, to orange and bright red.
