Symptoms
Foliage becomes sticky and a whitish waxy deposit also coats the
leaf surfaces. The impact of this sap-sucking insect can mean that
plants may wilt and die.
Spot them
Large (4-5 mm long) greyish green aphids in dense colonies can be
seen in early summer on the underside of leaves and on the flower
spikes. Populations peak from late May to July.
