Symptoms
Pale yellow blotches appear on the leaf surface from May onwards.
Dark green patches also appear on the undersides of the leaf. By
mid-summer the foliage may be extensively blotched and leaves at
the shoot tips become misshapen.
Unlike virus infections, which can be confused with a mite problem, no significant reduction in cane height or fruiting occurs. Yellow blotches caused by viruses are more angular and in the leaf veins.
Spot them
The mites are microscopic.
