Symptoms
Soft scale sucks sap and makes its host plants sticky with honeydew
and the associated sooty mould. It is a problem on indoor plants
such as Citrus, Ficus and bay trees.
Spot them
Scales which look like hard-coated bumps can be seen on stems and
the underside of leaves. Scale insects can remain attached to the
plant long after they are dead but new growth should be free of
scales once they have been brought under control.
