Cultivation

Best grown in a container in ericaceous compost in full sun. Water regularly, particularly in dry periods. Protect fruit from birds with a net or bird scarer. Fertilise & mulch in spring. Does not require support. If grown in the ground, add a generous amount of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil before planting.

Pruning

Remove fruited stems after harvest. Select six to eight of the strongest canes and, if growing with wire supports, tie them 10-15cm apart along the wires. Cut remaining young stems at ground level.
