Cultivation

Outdoors, best grown in deep, fertile, moist but well-drained, acid to neutral soil in full sun. Feed with a slow-release fertilizer in spring. Tolerates light shade and slightly alkaline conditions. Tolerates short periods of light frost, coastal spray, moist but not waterlogged soil, and moderate drought. Suitable for use as a low hedge. Under glass, grow in ericaceous compost in full light with shade from hot sun. In growth, water moderately & feed monthly. Water sparingly in winter.
