Cultivation

Grows well in a range of soil conditions, including heavy clay or sand. Drought and salt tolerant. Will survive temperature down to -5C (23F). If grown along the coast, tolerates strong winds and dry soil. Inland, needs shelter and moister conditions. Leaves exude salt. Favorable fire resistance. Classified as an invasive, noxious species in some introduced areas, particularly in the US.
