Additional plant details

Cultivation

Plant in full sun in fertile, wet or boggy soil or at pond margins up to 15cm deep. Site with care as the root system may puncture pond liners. This is a vigorous plant that will eventually fill any space available due to its creeping rhizomes, so it is best planted in containers and used for very large ponds. Grows at elevations up to 1,500m (4,900'). Considered an invasive weed in managed aquatic systems and introduced areas.
