V. infausta is a half-hardy, spreading, often multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub or small tree with velvety, elliptic, ovate, or obovate, mid- to dark green leaves, conspicuously veined beneath, and cymes of small, greenish-white flowers in spring followed by spherical, edible, green fruit turning pale brown when ripe.

Cultivation

In frost-free areas, grow in any well-drained soil in full sun or light, dappled shade. Tolerates a minimum of 12C (54F) in growth, may tolerates temperatures down to -5C (23F) when dormant. Drought tolerant once established. Alternatively, grow under glass in loam-based compost in full light. Water moderately & feed monthly in growth.
