The HESCO Garden 2010

By Leeds City Council. This garden represents a section of green space in Leeds, with elements that link natural and recreational areas.
Its primary purpose is to encourage a wider understanding of the value of natural and managed green space.
The focal point of the garden is a pair of seeping lock gates, which set the scene and provide a framework for both natural woodland and a recreational space.
The garden also explores a new way of using hardy annuals in a naturalistic way, providing interest from spring through to autumn.
Planting has been chosen for its value in supporting and encouraging local wildlife and conservation.
